- Ultra-compact, with fast data transfer rates and currently up to 2GB storage capacity, the removable xD-Picture Card has been developed to meet the memory card requirements of the modern, multi-megapixel digital photographer. The new media has been created to potentially support capacities up to 8GB in the future. Shooting versatility is enhanced through the panorama function while the optional available PC Card adapter and USB card reader make it easy to transfer digital pictures, movies and sound files to a computer. A Compact Flash adapter exclusively designed for the new media allowing xD-Picture Cards to be inserted in cameras with a Compact Flash slot is also available.
- xD-Picture Cards Type M and Type H enable high storage capacities to be achieved at lower cost per megabyte. Using new, compressed methods of digital data storage, higher capacities are achievable with minimal impact on read and write times. Types M and H use different methods of digital encoding, however, their identical operating specifications make them fully interchangeable.
